JCB does it, again: Now at 350 MPH

You may be tiring of our constant coverage of the JCB DieselMax's pursuit of speed at the Bonneville Salt Flats. While you certainly aren't alone, we still think that an oilburner that can achieve 350 MPH is still news. Plus, there are a few of us that are pining away for a high performance diesel to enter the U.S. market, setting to rest previously held beliefs about diesels, and this is one large step in that direction.

With that out of the way, it seems the British earthmover manufacturer is on its way to break its own record, again. Yesterday, the DieselMax hit 350 MPH and although it hasn't been confirmed yet by the FIA, there is little doubt that they'll continue moving upward from there.

The truly jaw-dropping part came from Andy Green, pilot of the DieselMax, when he said, "There is so much more to come as the car is pulling like a train and we still haven't used sixth gear!"

There's no way of telling, but we've got a good idea what's pumping through his headphones.
